> Libraesva Email Security and iBlockSpam compared: on-premises or cloud gateway vs per-domain MX filter, licensing, EU data, trials and setup. Sourced and dated.

Libraesva, now part of LibraCyber, sells an email security gateway you can run on your own virtual machines or in the cloud, with sandboxing, archiving and DMARC tools. iBlockSpam is a hosted per-domain MX filter you buy directly. Here's how they compare on facts checked in October 2026.

## The short answer

Libraesva suits organizations that want control over where their gateway runs, on their own hypervisors or in a cloud of their choice, with attachment sandboxing, URL analysis, archiving and DMARC management from one European vendor. iBlockSpam suits businesses that want a hosted inbound filter with nothing to install, a flat published price per domain, unlimited mailboxes, flexible quarantine digests, free DNS tools and a 30-day money-back guarantee.

Competitor details below were checked on Libraesva's and LibraCyber's own pages in October 2026.

## Side by side

| | Libraesva Email Security | iBlockSpam |
|---|---|---|
| Deployment | Gateway as a virtual appliance (images for VMware, Hyper-V, Proxmox KVM and others) or in the cloud; integrates with Microsoft 365, Google Workspace and Exchange | Hosted MX filter only; mail is delivered on to Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, cPanel/WHM, Exchange or other servers |
| Who sells it | Libraesva directly or through channel partners | Businesses directly; partners (MSPs and web hosts) by conversation |
| Pricing model | Charges relate to the number of provisioned users | Per domain, unlimited mailboxes (mailbox count, not message volume) |
| Published price | None; pricing on request | Protect $12 per domain/month billed annually ($144/year) or $15 month-to-month; Protect Plus $19 annually or $24 monthly. Beta pricing, USD, excluding tax |
| Trial or guarantee | "Try 30 days free" offered on its site | No free trial; 30-day money-back guarantee on a domain's first annual subscription |
| Where mail is processed (hosted) | Generally a US data center for US customers, an EU data center for UK and EU customers; or your own infrastructure | United States |
| Sandboxing and URL analysis | Attachment sandbox and URL analysis | No sandbox; attachment-type filters and a Microsoft Office macro filter |
| Outbound | Account takeover protection that adapts outbound sending limits | Outbound relay with DKIM signing and outbound filtering, 500 messages a month |
| Quarantine | Not detailed on the pages we checked | Personal quarantine for every user; digests hourly, daily, on a chosen weekday or custom; shared admin quarantine |
| Archive | Email Archiver (separate product) | 30-day message history (not a compliance archive) |
| DMARC | LetsDMARC (separate product) | DMARC monitoring included in both plans |
| Free tools | Not listed on the pages we checked | Email Health Check, MX, SPF, DKIM, DMARC, blacklist, PTR, MTA-STS, BIMI, header analyzer, SPF and DMARC generators |

## What it costs at 10 and 50 mailboxes

Assumptions: one domain, published prices only, USD, excluding tax.

| | 10 mailboxes | 50 mailboxes |
|---|---|---|
| Libraesva Email Security | Not published (request pricing) | Not published |
| iBlockSpam Protect, annual | **$12/month** ($144/year) | **$12/month** ($144/year) |
| iBlockSpam Protect Plus, annual | **$19/month** ($228/year) | **$19/month** ($228/year) |
| iBlockSpam Protect, month-to-month | $15/month | $15/month |

If you run Libraesva on your own servers, add the cost of the virtual machines and the time to patch and monitor them. Compare the whole cost, not just the licence line.

## When Libraesva is the better choice

- **You need your mail handled in the EU, or on your own infrastructure.** Libraesva's hosted service generally runs in an EU data center for UK and EU customers, and its gateway can run on your own hypervisors. iBlockSpam processes mail in the United States.
- **You want attachment sandboxing and URL analysis.** Libraesva describes an isolated sandbox and URL inspection. iBlockSpam doesn't sandbox.
- **You want archiving, DMARC management and awareness training from one vendor.** Email Archiver, LetsDMARC and, since the LibraCyber combination, Cyber Guru's training sit alongside the gateway.
- **You want a free trial before you buy.** Libraesva offers a 30-day trial; iBlockSpam doesn't have a free trial.
- **You have the in-house skills to run a gateway** and want deep policy control over it.

## When iBlockSpam is the better choice

- **You don't want to run or patch a gateway.** iBlockSpam is hosted; setup is an MX change plus platform steps, with a guided setup wizard and rollback steps.
- **You want prices you can read.** Prices and per-domain limits are on the [pricing page](https://iblockspam.com/pricing), with no quote needed.
- **You have many mailboxes or aliases on one domain.** One price per domain covers unlimited mailboxes and domain aliases, with 100,000 inbound messages a month.
- **You want users to manage their own held mail.** Every user gets a personal quarantine with [digests](https://iblockspam.com/features/quarantine-and-digests) as often as hourly.
- **You want DNS drift alerts and free tools.** [Domain monitoring](https://iblockspam.com/features/domain-monitoring) is included, and our [tools](https://iblockspam.com/tools) need no sign-up.
- **You want a money-back guarantee.** A domain's first annual subscription has a 30-day money-back guarantee.

## How to switch from Libraesva

1. If a partner manages Libraesva for you, agree a cutover date and check your contract's renewal notice period.
2. Export your allow and block lists and any custom rules, and decide where archived mail will live if you use Email Archiver.
3. Save your current DNS with the [Email Health Check](https://iblockspam.com/tools/email-health-check) and lower the MX TTL a day or two ahead.
4. Add your domain in iBlockSpam and follow the guided setup for your platform, such as the [Microsoft 365](https://iblockspam.com/platforms/microsoft-365) inbound connector or the [Google Workspace](https://iblockspam.com/platforms/google-workspace) inbound gateway.
5. Update any connector or firewall rule that only accepts inbound mail from your Libraesva gateway, and move outbound relay if it runs through Libraesva.
6. Change MX, test with the [Email Header Analyzer](https://iblockspam.com/tools/email-header-analyzer), and keep Libraesva running until the old TTL has passed and no new mail arrives there.

Our [migration plan](https://iblockspam.com/migrate) covers each step and the rollback.

## Frequently asked questions

### Is Libraesva the same company as LibraCyber?

Libraesva is now part of LibraCyber. On 15 April 2026, Libraesva and Cyber Guru, a security awareness company, announced that they had completed a strategic combination and launched LibraCyber as the group brand. Libraesva's site now carries the LibraCyber name, and still lists the products as Libraesva Email Security, Email Archiver, LetsDMARC and PhishBrain.

### Can Libraesva run on my own servers?

Yes. Libraesva publishes Email Security Gateway images for hypervisors including VMware, Hyper-V and Proxmox KVM, and says it runs locally or in your chosen cloud. iBlockSpam is hosted only: you point your MX records at our filtering servers, and there is nothing to install or patch.

### How does Libraesva count licences for billing?

Libraesva's terms, last modified 30 September 2024, say charges relate to the number of provisioned users, invoiced by Libraesva or a channel partner, and that active users should never be fewer than the mailboxes being scanned. Prices aren't published. iBlockSpam charges per domain, with unlimited mailboxes.

### Where does Libraesva's hosted service process mail?

Libraesva's terms say the service is generally provided from a data center in the United States for US customers, and in a European Union country for UK and EU customers. iBlockSpam processes mail in the United States, so if you need EU processing, Libraesva is the better fit.
