Acceptable Use Policy

The rules that keep iBlockSpam safe and reliable for every customer, including the outbound relay and the free tools.

Effective date: 10 October 2026

The short version: use iBlockSpam for your own organization's legitimate email. Never use the outbound relay for bulk or unsolicited mail, only protect domains you control, and don't attack, overload or probe the Service.

This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") is part of the Terms of Service between your organization and BroadNet Technologies LLC, the operator of iBlockSpam. Words with capitals, such as Service, Users and Protected Domain, have the meanings given in the Terms. It applies to everyone who uses the Service under your account, and you're responsible for your Users' compliance.

1. Why this policy matters

Our filtering infrastructure and outbound relay are shared. The sending reputation of the relay, and the ability of every customer to get mail delivered, depends on each customer using it properly. One customer's spam can get relay addresses blocked for everyone.

2. The outbound relay

The outbound relay (smart host) is for your organization's ordinary business email: messages people send to individuals or small groups, and low-volume system mail such as invoices, receipts or password resets. Each Protected Domain includes 500 outbound relay messages per month.

You must not use the outbound relay to send:

  1. Bulk email, such as newsletters, marketing campaigns, or announcements to large lists. Use a dedicated bulk-sending provider for that.
  2. Unsolicited email: mail to people who haven't asked for it or agreed to receive it, whether commercial or not.
  3. Mail to purchased, rented, scraped or harvested address lists.
  4. Mail with forged or misleading headers, or from addresses you aren't authorized to use.
  5. Mail that breaks the anti-spam or electronic marketing laws that apply to you or your recipients, such as the US CAN-SPAM Act, Canada's anti-spam law (CASL), or EU and UK e-privacy rules.

Where the law requires it, your mail must identify the sender and include a working way to opt out.

We may monitor relay volumes and complaint and bounce signals to protect the relay's reputation, and may throttle or hold relay mail that appears to breach this section (see section 8).

3. Inbound filtering and domains

You must not:

  • add a domain you don't own or aren't authorized to manage;
  • use the Service to intercept or read mail for anyone other than your own organization's users, or the clients you manage under a partner agreement; or
  • get around message size, volume or other limits, for example by splitting one domain's traffic across several accounts.

4. Security and integrity

You must not:

  • send or knowingly distribute malware, phishing or other harmful content;
  • probe, scan or test the vulnerability of our systems or filtering infrastructure, except under our responsible disclosure terms on the Security page;
  • run denial-of-service or spam-volume tests against the Service;
  • interfere with the Service or with other customers' use of it; or
  • access accounts or data that aren't yours, or try to bypass authentication, rate limits or domain verification.

Report a vulnerability to security@iblockspam.com. Testing only your own account, without accessing others' data, is welcome under the terms on the Security page.

5. Free tools

The free tools are for checking domains you manage or are investigating in good faith. Don't run automated or high-volume queries, scrape results, resell the tools' output, or use them to plan or support attacks. We may rate-limit or block abusive use without notice.

6. Unlawful or harmful use

You must not use the Service for anything unlawful, fraudulent or deceptive, or that infringes other people's rights, including privacy and intellectual property rights, or to harass, threaten or harm anyone.

7. Your accounts

Keep sign-in details confidential, give access only to people who need it, and remove Users who leave your organization. Tell us promptly at security@iblockspam.com if you suspect unauthorized access.

8. Enforcement

If we reasonably believe this AUP has been breached, we may, depending on the seriousness:

  1. contact you and ask you to stop or fix the problem;
  2. throttle, hold or suspend the feature involved, such as the outbound relay;
  3. suspend your account; or
  4. terminate the agreement for serious or repeated breaches.

We'll warn you first and give you a chance to fix the problem wherever practicable. We may act immediately where needed to protect the Service, the relay's sending reputation, other customers or the public, and will then tell you promptly what we did and why. We'll keep any action proportionate and lift it once the issue is resolved. Refunds for accounts closed for misuse are covered in the Refund and Cancellation Policy.

9. Reporting abuse

To report spam or abuse involving the Service, email abuse@iblockspam.com and include the full message headers. We review every report and act on it.

10. Changes

We may update this AUP to respond to new abuse patterns or legal requirements. We'll give notice of material changes as described in the Terms.
