This Refund and Cancellation Policy ("Policy") is part of the Terms of Service between you and BroadNet Technologies LLC, the operator of iBlockSpam ("we", "us"). Words with capitals, such as Subscription and Subscription Period, have the meanings given in the Terms. If this Policy and the Terms conflict on billing, cancellation or refunds, this Policy applies.
1. What you're paying for
iBlockSpam is an online subscription service that filters email for your business domains. Nothing physical is shipped. Each protected domain has its own Subscription, billed annually or month to month, with its own renewal date.
| Plan | Billed annually | Month to month |
|---|---|---|
| Protect | $144 per domain per year (equal to $12 per domain/month) | $15 per domain/month |
| Protect Plus | $228 per domain per year (equal to $19 per domain/month) | $24 per domain/month |
| Partners (MSPs and web hosts) | By written agreement | By written agreement |
Prices are Beta prices in US dollars (USD) and exclude taxes; applicable taxes may be added where required. Current prices are always on our pricing page.
2. Billing and automatic renewal
- You pay in advance, at the start of each Subscription Period, by card or another method offered at checkout. Payments are processed by Stripe; we never see your full card number.
- Subscriptions renew automatically. Unless you cancel before the end of the current period, your Subscription renews for another period of the same length (one month or one year) and your payment method is charged at the price then in effect.
- Annual renewal reminder. We email the account owner a reminder at least 7 days before each annual renewal, with the date and amount.
- Price changes. We give at least 30 days' notice by email before a new price applies to your Subscription. It takes effect from your first renewal after the notice period. If you don't accept it, cancel before that renewal.
- Changing plans. Where the billing portal lets you change plan or billing interval, it shows any prorated amount and the date the change takes effect before you confirm.
- Failed payments. If a payment fails, we email you and retry. We don't charge late fees. If it remains unpaid 14 days after our notice, we may suspend the Subscription until it's paid, as described in the Terms.
3. How to cancel
In the billing portal. Sign in at iblockspam.com/account, open the billing section, and cancel the Subscription in the Stripe customer portal. You'll see the date your service ends.
By email. If you can't use the portal, email support@iblockspam.com from an account owner's address, naming the domain. We'll cancel it and confirm by email.
When cancellation takes effect. Cancelling stops future renewals. Your Subscription continues until the end of the period you've already paid for, then ends. You won't be charged again for it.
Before your service ends, point your MX records back to your own mail server or new provider. Otherwise mail for your domain may stop arriving once filtering ends. Our migration guide explains each step, and we're happy to help you plan the change.
4. When you can get a refund
4.1 First annual Subscription: 30-day money-back guarantee
If you ask within 30 days of the charge for the first annual Subscription you buy for a domain, we refund that charge in full and end the Subscription. The guarantee applies once per domain.
4.2 Annual renewals: 14-day refund window
If you ask within 14 days of an annual renewal charge, we refund that renewal charge in full and end the Subscription. After 14 days the renewal isn't refundable, and your service continues until the end of the renewed year.
4.3 Month-to-month Subscriptions
Monthly fees are non-refundable. You can cancel at any time, and your service continues until the end of the month you've paid for.
4.4 Everything else
Apart from sections 4.1 and 4.2, we don't give refunds or credits for partial months, unused time, or periods in which you didn't use the Service, including when you cancel part-way through an annual Subscription.
4.5 Billing errors
We always refund in full, with no time limit:
- duplicate charges;
- charges for the wrong amount, plan or domain; and
- any charge made after a cancellation we had confirmed.
4.6 When the Terms give you a refund
Some situations in the Terms of Service entitle you to a refund of the Fees you prepaid for the remaining full months of an annual Subscription Period. They are when:
- we end a Subscription or the Service for our own convenience;
- you cancel because you don't accept a price change, a material change to the Terms, or a change that materially reduces a paid feature;
- a domain's usage regularly exceeds the included limits and we can't agree a suitable arrangement; or
- a force majeure event prevents us from providing the Service for more than 30 days.
4.7 Accounts closed for misuse
We don't refund Subscriptions suspended or terminated for a breach of our Acceptable Use Policy, for example sending bulk or unsolicited email through the outbound relay, except where the law requires it.
4.8 Taxes
When we refund a charge, or part of it, we also refund any tax charged on the refunded amount.
4.9 Partner accounts
For partners (MSPs and web hosts) billed under a written partner agreement, the refund terms in that agreement apply. Where it says nothing, this Policy applies.
5. Worked examples
All examples use the Protect plan and exclude tax.
| Situation | What happens |
|---|---|
| You buy your first annual Subscription for example.com on 1 March ($144). On 20 March you ask for a refund. | It's within 30 days: we refund $144 and end the Subscription. Point your MX records back before it ends. |
| Same purchase, but you ask on 15 April. | It's more than 30 days after the charge: no refund. Cancel in the portal and your service runs to the end of February next year, then stops without renewing. |
| The Subscription renews on 1 March the next year ($144). You ask for a refund on 10 March. | It's within 14 days of the renewal charge: we refund $144 and end the Subscription. |
| Same renewal, but you ask on 25 March. | More than 14 days after the renewal: no refund. You keep the service until the end of that year, and it won't renew if you cancel. |
| You pay $15 month to month on 1 June and cancel on 10 June. | No refund for June. Your service runs to the end of the monthly period and you aren't charged again. |
| You protect two domains on annual plans and cancel one of them within 30 days of its first charge. | Each domain has its own Subscription: that domain's charge is refunded; the other domain is unaffected. |
| You were charged twice for the same renewal. | A billing error: we refund the duplicate charge in full, whenever you tell us. |
6. How to request a refund
- Email support@iblockspam.com from the address on your account, or use our contact form.
- Include the domain, the invoice or receipt number, and the charge date.
- We reply within 2 business days.
- Refunds go back to the original payment method. They usually appear within 5 to 10 business days, depending on your bank or card issuer. We can't refund to a different card or account.
The refund window is met if your request reaches us within it, even if we process it later.
7. Billing questions and chargebacks
If you don't recognize a charge or think it's wrong, please contact us before your bank or card issuer. We can usually resolve billing questions within a couple of business days, and a refund from us normally reaches you faster than a chargeback. If a dispute is opened, we'll respond to the card issuer through Stripe with the relevant account and billing records, including any refund we've already made.
8. Your statutory rights
The Service is sold to businesses. If the law where you are gives you rights that can't be excluded by contract, such as a statutory right to cancel or to a remedy for a faulty service, nothing in this Policy limits them.
9. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy. Changes apply to charges made after the updated Policy takes effect, never to charges you've already paid. We'll notify account owners of material changes by email at least 30 days in advance.
