The short answer
Libraesva suits organizations that want control over where their gateway runs, on their own hypervisors or in a cloud of their choice, with attachment sandboxing, URL analysis, archiving and DMARC management from one European vendor. iBlockSpam suits businesses that want a hosted inbound filter with nothing to install, a flat published price per domain, unlimited mailboxes, flexible quarantine digests, free DNS tools and a 30-day money-back guarantee.

If you run Libraesva on your own servers, add the cost of the virtual machines and the time to patch and monitor them. Compare the whole cost, not just the licence line.
When Libraesva is the better choice
- You need your mail handled in the EU, or on your own infrastructure. Libraesva's hosted service generally runs in an EU data center for UK and EU customers, and its gateway can run on your own hypervisors. iBlockSpam processes mail in the United States.
- You want attachment sandboxing and URL analysis. Libraesva describes an isolated sandbox and URL inspection. iBlockSpam doesn't sandbox.
- You want archiving, DMARC management and awareness training from one vendor. Email Archiver, LetsDMARC and, since the LibraCyber combination, Cyber Guru's training sit alongside the gateway.
- You want a free trial before you buy. Libraesva offers a 30-day trial; iBlockSpam doesn't have a free trial.
- You have the in-house skills to run a gateway and want deep policy control over it.
When iBlockSpam is the better choice
- You don't want to run or patch a gateway. iBlockSpam is hosted; setup is an MX change plus platform steps, with a guided setup wizard and rollback steps.
- You want prices you can read. Prices and per-domain limits are on the pricing page, with no quote needed.
- You have many mailboxes or aliases on one domain. One price per domain covers unlimited mailboxes and domain aliases, with 100,000 inbound messages a month.
- You want users to manage their own held mail. Every user gets a personal quarantine with digests as often as hourly.
- You want DNS drift alerts and free tools. Domain monitoring is included, and our tools need no sign-up.
- You want a money-back guarantee. A domain's first annual subscription has a 30-day money-back guarantee.
How to switch from Libraesva
- If a partner manages Libraesva for you, agree a cutover date and check your contract's renewal notice period.
- Export your allow and block lists and any custom rules, and decide where archived mail will live if you use Email Archiver.
- Save your current DNS with the Email Health Check and lower the MX TTL a day or two ahead.
- Add your domain in iBlockSpam and follow the guided setup for your platform, such as the Microsoft 365 inbound connector or the Google Workspace inbound gateway.
- Update any connector or firewall rule that only accepts inbound mail from your Libraesva gateway, and move outbound relay if it runs through Libraesva.
- Change MX, test with the Email Header Analyzer, and keep Libraesva running until the old TTL has passed and no new mail arrives there.
Our migration plan covers each step and the rollback.

Frequently asked questions
Is Libraesva the same company as LibraCyber?
Libraesva is now part of LibraCyber. On 15 April 2026, Libraesva and Cyber Guru, a security awareness company, announced that they had completed a strategic combination and launched LibraCyber as the group brand. Libraesva's site now carries the LibraCyber name, and still lists the products as Libraesva Email Security, Email Archiver, LetsDMARC and PhishBrain.
Can Libraesva run on my own servers?
Yes. Libraesva publishes Email Security Gateway images for hypervisors including VMware, Hyper-V and Proxmox KVM, and says it runs locally or in your chosen cloud. iBlockSpam is hosted only: you point your MX records at our filtering servers, and there is nothing to install or patch.
How does Libraesva count licences for billing?
Libraesva's terms, last modified 30 September 2024, say charges relate to the number of provisioned users, invoiced by Libraesva or a channel partner, and that active users should never be fewer than the mailboxes being scanned. Prices aren't published. iBlockSpam charges per domain, with unlimited mailboxes.
Where does Libraesva's hosted service process mail?
Libraesva's terms say the service is generally provided from a data center in the United States for US customers, and in a European Union country for UK and EU customers. iBlockSpam processes mail in the United States, so if you need EU processing, Libraesva is the better fit.
